My name is Amanda and Traditional Folk Art and Craft is my passion.
You
are very welcome to browse my site. I offer bonafide visitors two free
beginner acrylic painting projects in Rosemaling and Florals (Sunflowers).
I'm especially interested in the traditional Painting of Norway, called Rosemaling, as well as Dutch Hindeloopen painting from the old Hanseatic town of Hindeloopen in Friesland, (The Netherlands) in addition to other crafts such as Hardanger, Silk ribbon and Huck embroidery, Weaving, Tunisian crochet (Hakking), Knitting and Silk Painting.
You will find information, photos and tutorials and useful tips on my site.
I am also interested in learning more about the old Danish needlework known as Hedebo syning or Hedebo embroidery.

If you've never painted before, don't be put off thinking you aren't artistic, you dont have to be to learn to paint folk or peasant crafts. Historically, traditional/folk art and craft has been done by ordinary people with little or no formal training. Relying heavily on technique and intially a good dose of practise, Folk Art and traditional crafts will create an artist in you.
I hope that with this site I can not only inspire you to discover art and craft but also that you find, as I do, that it can be most theraupeutic in relieving the stress of modern life.
